I didn't take your previous posts as negative, but instead saw them as a statement of facts. If anyone has been paying attention, "jobs" are going away faster then they are being created. Being a "boomer" myself, I saw my parents' security wrapped up in this equation: pension + Social Security + Medicare = comfortable retirement. And while they did not live high on the hog they did have a relatively comfortable retirement.

If you want a comfortable retirement, look for a company that matches your 401 (K) contributions. Then contribute the maximum allowed and hope the company you're working for 1) never closes its doors, and 2) never rescinds its promise to match your contributions.

Let's face it - $12 trillion dollars just disappeared in the past 18 months. Yes we may be heading out of the light at the end of the tunnel, but we're on a narrow-gauge track in a coal-powered locomotive going up a mountain. It ain't over yet folks!
